Formed in 2002, the Golden Section is one of the UK's most versatile brass ensembles. Its founders, trombonist Simon Gunton and tuba player Robin Haggart were members of the Wallace Collection and when that group was wound up, they were keen to carry on the ground-breaking work that they had already been part of.
Since then, the Golden Section has toured Spain and Ireland as well as appearing throughout the UK. They aim to push the boundaries of brass playing, often looking to other cultures for influences. Good examples of this would be The Wedding Bands of Rajasthan and the Gypsy Bands of Eastern Europe.
Commenting on their forthcoming recording, Simon Gunton said: Jim Parker has long been a friend of the Golden Section and we're delighted to be collaborating with him, alongside Brass Classics. It's also a great thrill to be able to feature the amazing talent of Mike Lovatt. We are really excited about this new recording.
